AUCTION RULESAUCTION TIMES: 1. The Auction Preview is Saturday at 10:30 , with all auction items on display. 2. The Euro/Family Games Auction begins at 11:00 . 3. The War/Strategy Games Auction begins at 13:00 or as soon as the Euro/Family Games Auction is over. 4. The "most collectable" items from each part of the auction will be sold at the end of that part. AUCTION ITEM SUBMISSION: 1. Complete an Auction Sheet for each item or group of items (lot.) 2. Please tape these sheets to your items using painter's tape. 3. If an item doesn't have an Auction Sheet it won't be sold. 4. Please make sure to fill out all sheets completely and HONESTLY! If a seller intentionally tries to mislead or hide problems with an item we will withdraw all of your items . AUCTION COMMISSION: 1. 10% of the selling price of each item or lot. 2. The commission is non-negotiable. 3. There is a $1 registration per Lot or Game in 2008-See Rule #5. 4. There may be a fee if your item doesn't sell - see rule #6. TO REGISTER: 1. On-site Registration opens on Saturday 8AM and will continue till 10AM in the Promenade Ballroom. 2. The auction staff determines which auction an item goes into. 3. Please Note: If the registration fills up online prior to the convention , no additional registrations will be accepted at the door. On the other hand if we have room in the auction we will accept items right up till the 10AM closing of registration. 4. In addition if you don't have your lot slips printed prior to the convention, your items will not be in the auction. The Hotel may have internet access for you to use and printing capability but they do charge a fee . MINIMUM BIDS RULE : 1. The auction staff recommends that you start all items with a $1 minimum and let the market work for you. Some people aren't willing to do that. 2. If you set an item with a minimum bid higher than $1 and it doesn't sell, AND the auctioneer deems your minimum to be "grossly over-valued", you will pay 10% of the items' minimum bid to get your item back (actually we'll deduct it from your total). TO BID: 1. You must have a bidder's card, which has a bidder number. 2. A bidder's card costs $1 (non-refundable) and is obtained from the auction staff prior to the Auction. 3. When you win an item, please immediately go to the auction desk and pay for your item - in CASH! CASH ONLY: 1. You must see Bruce Reiff and get approval to pay with either a check or by PayPal! 2. PayPal will be accepted if you pay the same day and add 5 percent for PayPal fees. BIDDING: 1. All bids are in $1.00 increments. (Do not try to bid in a 50-cent increment or the auction staff will make fun of you.) 2. Hold your Bidder's Card up while the auctioneer calls the price; the last card held up is the winning bidder. The auction staff will be bidding on items, too. Please feel free to bid against them. Hold your card up high. If you're not noticed, make a noise! This is an auction! 3. Just because an item starts at $1 doesn't meant you can't start out higher. Remember, the auctioneer is almost always right. If the auctioneer is wrong, point it out nicely and he will correct himself. 4. Also remember Caveat Emptor (buyers beware)! We will try and check items up for bid, but we are not responsible for missing parts or misleading descriptions. TABS: 1. Tabs are time-consuming for the auction staff. A tab bidder card costs $1 plus a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $50.00, which is credited toward your total purchases. 2. Use one tab for both auctions. If you don't spend the full $50.00, you do NOT get a refund. Sound harsh? Not meant to, it's just meant to have tabs only for the people who really need them. ******All sales are final!****** SELLER MONEY and ITEM PICKUP: You may pick-up your money and unsold items Saturday evening at 21:00 at the PrezCon Registration Desk in the Ballroom Lobby. If you do not contact the PrezCon Staff by 16:00 Sunday, all monies and games become property of PrezCon, Inc. Bruce Reiff is an excellent Auctioneer and his staff is top notch. If there are questions please contact Bruce at bdreiff@aol.com |
